Happy Anniversary,
Rise of Hades!
As of next month, on June 13th, the site will have officially been back for an entire year!
Thank you all for joining us, some for the first time and other brand new faces we're so excited to see. It really has been amazing to get this place up and running again and see what crazy things everyone has come up with in terms of characters, plotlines, and so much more.
To celebrate the occasion, we'll be launching our first site-wide plot, titled CONTAINMENT. The following events will occur starting on 6-13-2023, and will last until 08-31-2023, at which point we will kick off the next site plot (titled A VILLAIN'S RUN). In-world, the events of the plot will take place from January 2nd, 2069 to March 20th, 2069. We ask that any threads, RF or regular, made that time period (excluding threads held in the PAST or FUTURE boards) observe the current site plot. Threads made before or after this time frame are welcome to continue on as normal. For reference, we're also asking you link your character's in this thread with their current location, as we'll be keeping an active tally of who is where on the site.
Here's what you need to know:
CONTAINMENT
The new year has arrived - it is now 2069, finally. This marks the third year of peace between the four sides of what has been a very long war. The length of time this tenuous peace has held out have some dubious of its lasting, while other are bored and itching for the brutality to kick up again. Everyone it watching, waiting for the other shoe to drop.
When it does, it catches everyone by surprise.
January 2nd, 2069. For most of the day, everything is as normal. People are mulling about their everyday activities, and nothing is amiss. Around midday, however, a disturbance is noted - each immortal kingdom experiences a sudden failure in their portals, cutting off travel from and to Olympus, The Underworld, and Atlantis. It's a quiet worry, something to pay attention to but nothing to cause alarm...
Until, about half an hour later, clouds fill the sky, obscuring the golden palace of Olympus from view. The Underworld shakes as it seemed the earth settled and solidifies on top of it. Atlantis's protections against the Ocean's massive weight fails momentarily and for a few seconds the city floods. Worst of all, while everyone, everywhere, scrambles to find their loved ones, many realize they are unable to travel.
FOR THE DURATION OF THIS PLOT
- All characters are bound to one of the four main kingdoms: Olympus, Gaia, Atlantis, or The Underworld
- No character, regardless of status or ability, is able to translocate or teleport in any manner. This includes abilities such as astral projection, dream walking, shadow walkers, etc.
Here is a brief description of each setting, as well as a list of occupants within each kingdom:
O L Y M P U S
LIFE ON OLYMPUS: The mountain of Olympus and the palace of Olympus are one in the same. Within the marble walls of the golden palace is a plethora of rooms and accommodations, all attended to by palace staff. The apartment-style living situations within Olympus allow for as much a solitary lifestyle as one may desire, as all necessary accommodations are found within. Each abode is highly customized to the preference of style and size of the occupant, and available square feet never presents an issue. However, there are still many public dining halls available, as well as amenities such as recreational areas, training grounds, etc.
POINTS OF ENTRY/EGRESS: Olympus can be accessed by means of flight or portal. All portals have been shut down and are no longer functioning. Creatures of flight within Olympus find that if they fly off the mountain, they are met with a cloud-cover that disorients and suddenly has them flying back in the direction they came. Falling off the mountainside has someone crash-landing back into the palace gates. Creatures of flight outside the mountain are simply unable to find it.
OCCUPANTS: MAGISSA , HYPNOS , DELPHIN , ANGELO EMILIOS THEIKOS , BIA , PARALIA , HELIOS , BOGUMIL KRZYSZTOF DOMAGALSKI , EKPYRSOKROTO , PHOBETOR , KAINOTOMIA , TRAGOUDO , LAGONIC , POMPODIS , PASSALOS , ROMULUS CROWE-CIGARO , ZAGREUS , MOROS , ERIS
G A I ALIFE ON GAIA: Life on Gaia is what you'd expect - typical apocalyptic housing or lack thereof. The three most common places to be found on Gaia is within the Grecian Cities or in one of the two Asthenesteros encampments - the fortress, or the town (pictures for reference here). However, plenty of folk find their way around wooded areas or other, lesser known pockets of land here and there.
POINTS OF ENTRY/EGRESS: Gaia is a big place but is currently cut off to all other kingdoms. All portals or known entrances to the kingdoms are either shut down or inaccessible.

LIFE IN ATLANTIS: There are two main places to live in Atlantis: The palace and the city. Within the palace, the lifestyle is very community based, and while those who live there are allotted their own apartments, the amenities are all community based - very few have their own kitchen, for example, so they must rely on the dining halls for meals. This was intentional in its design - Atlantis was built to be community centered, as the lack of natural light within the place is known to cause mental health ailments. The palace also contains amentias such as gyms, bars, dining halls, etc. The other common location to live in Atlantis is the city beyond, which is connected to the palace through a series of above-ground or below-ground tunnels for those who cannot breathe in the water, though very few inhabitants in the city have this issue.
POINTS OF ENTRY/EGRESS: Atlantis has portals to the other kingdoms, as well as a few that lead to Gaia, and they are all current not functional. Although the city can be swam to, those that can stand the oceanic force at the depths Atlantis sits find themselves in a similar situation to the one on Gaia - they grow disoriented and are suddenly swimming back to the city. Those unequipped to handle the surface pressure at the bottom of the oceans find that outside the cities' protection, they're crushed.

LIFE IN THE UNDERWORLD: There are three common locations one can find themselves living here: The vast, barren landscape of the Underworld houses many - some live in caves, other under bridges, and of course there is Elysium and Tartarus as well. However, the majority of the living Underworld inhabitants either find themselves in Hade's palace, or Chthonic Palace. Located a few miles apart from one another, they sit in nearly identical obsidian structures with gold veining in the walls and detailing. While, like Olympus, it contains apartment-style living, the spaces themselves are less customizable, and are all consisting of the obsidian, gothic nature of the palace's design. The palace also has the standard amenities listed in the other two palaces.
POINTS OF ENTRY/EGRESS: The Underworld is only accessible by portal, all of which have been closed.
