ABILITIES/POWERS xx
Natural Form -- Summoning Form
- Unholy Blessings of Protection; They can cast a protection veil across those who have appealed to them through summoning//offerings. They rarely provide this gift, but when they do, it is considered an honour and should be recognized as such (otherwise they'll strip it from you pretty fast). This veil is invisible to all but the divine, who see it as a dim halo of light surrounding the silhouette of the blessed. This veil is everlasting unless destroyed by a worthy divine entity - it protects from mental assaults, spell-casting, curses, and a fraction of protection from physical world dangers.
- Unholy Promises of Wealth; Belial is known for providing wealth to those who worship//summon them, but it's a double-edged sword. If you are to ask for help with attaining wealth and they feel that you are worthy, they will provide a ring to you. It is a simple gold band, but once it is put on, it burns into your flesh and becomes one with you. This ring "speaks" to wealth - money will seem to find you, the wealthy and elite will be charmed by you, and financial burdens will ease out of what seems to be dumb luck - but with this joy comes great grief. Your wealthy uncle, whom you adore, may suddenly die (but leave all his possessions to you), your co-worker may get fired or die (and you get that promotion instead of them), your wife/husband may leave you (but you get the attention from an extremely wealthy individual who happens to be deathly ill). All golden paths lead to hell.
- Tethered Souls; Possession is expected from a demon, is it not? Yet, the depictions in the media are far from the truth. Permission must be given by the individual that is to be possessed, and a contract is made via blood sacrifice. This means that Belial has an arsenal of bodies they can leap into if desired, and leave promptly if the body has become threatened in any way. Though their strength and immortality are imbued into the body that is possessed, the mortal is still very capable of perishing when under the control of Belial. Many have fallen while under the hand of the demon, but alas, such is life.
- Telekinesis; As it says - Belial can move objects and most beings through the power of their mind's will alone.
- Voice of Suggestion; A favourite of Belial's, this grants them the ability to charmingly speak into the mind of another and suggest things. It's internal manipulation where they convince someone to do something they wouldn't normally willingly do. These can be mistaken as intrusive thoughts.
- Guilt Inducement; A king of guilt, depravity, and lies, Belial can make someone feel extraordinarily guilty over something minuscule, to the point that they spiral and cannot dig themselves out of a whole of self-resentment for committing such an act.
- Serpent's Tongue; Don't try to beat them at their own game of lying, they'll know. Belial has the innate ability to detect lies that have been spoken either to him or near him. The lie that has been spoken will sound brassy to them, but not in reality, and acts like a bell to indicate that it is indeed a lie.
- Liar's Tongue; On the flip-side, Belial is excruciatingly good at lying. With a disgusting mask of charm and wit mixed in with their central ability of conviction, Belial can pretty much get away with any fool's tale they come up with. Some may walk away from the conversation wondering why they didn't question such a tall tale or blatantly clear lie, but they won't dare to confront Belial about it.
- Hellfire Wielding; An ancient ability that is granted to all demonic entities - Belial may conjure up fire from the depths of his realm instantaneously. They may manipulate it at will. Hellfire is the extreme of Earthly fire, with the flames as hot as molten lava, but with the appearance of blue flames.
- Dark Vision; They can see in low-light with ease.
- Mimicry; Belial can emulate the voice of those they have met, or what they have heard from the media. This can be your best friend's voice, a famous actor's film line, or a song. They often break this ability out as a party trick, claiming that it is simply a keen talent to impersonate.
- Minor Shapeshifting; Outside of their forms, Belial can shapeshift into animals at will.
- Salvation; Ressurection of the dead or the unbinding of a curse. Though, this requires a heavy sacrifice - the death of one you dearly love by your hand, and their heart given to Belial so they may consume their soul and forever damn them to an afterlife in purgatory.

PERSONALITY
There is a simplicity within Belial that should be acknowledged: they simply desire to create disorder and discontent.
Now that that's out of the way, let's dig into more 'complex' traits that they have picked up and harnessed over the past few thousand years.
Belial is relentlessly charming, but it does not come from a place of insincerity. No, it's genuine, surprisingly. They enjoy reeling people in with pretty words and fanciful thoughts because it almost guarantees the likelihood of that person being hooked to their every word. They pose as the quintessential "nice" guy - the guy who wouldn't hurt a fly and you couldn't imagine being rude to anybody. This means, that when Belial does act violently toward someone behind the scenes, they are likely to not be believed. Of course, Belial's abilities ensure this, but they much rather let things flow organically.
Belial is fanciful. The image of 'The Fool' tarot card comes to mind when trying to describe their dominant traits. They like to have a good time and prefer not to have others interfere with them having it. This means rebellion is in their blood and they'll cut corners, deceive, and cheat their way to having fun/getting to the fun parts of the day. Lackadaisical and rambunctious, most often, but don't let their fool-hardy nature trick you into thinking that they're not privy to what is happening all around them. Ah, yes, despite seeking out fun in every corner, they also flit about and engage in deep-meaning interactions to gain trust and harvest all those juicy tidbits (hot goss'). How is the ruler of lies expected to do their job when they don't know how to play their cards right?
Enticed by greed, this one. Sometimes, their eyes get too big for their stomach and they trip themselves up by playing with too many wires at once (aka, human lives). Meddling in the lives of others can sometimes result in it backfiring, not often, but sometimes. This greediness has resulted in Belial getting caught red-handed, confronted, and - quite often - threatened. Of course, though, what does a demon do in such a predicament? Show what violence truly is! Demon lust, that's what they call it, is a thirst to inflict pain and incite misery onto others. Usually, Belial contains this all up until a confrontational moment arises and then they blow the gasket. It's not pretty. Death is rare for those involved, they've never been big on the whole murder thing, but sometimes it happens.
They are the ruler of lies and thus this does rule them, to a degree. Relationships of any kind may happen here and there, but dissolve fairly quickly for many reasons. They're not one to take "no" very well if that is of any assistance. They are also bound to cheat, as expected for someone who dances on fanciful feet and paws with greedy hands. Loyalty doesn't exist in this one's eyes, except to themselves.
